Cel Shading vs Painting
With this piece, I wanted to compare my painting skills to cel shading, as I use the latter in all of my illustrations.
Personally, I struggle with painting, and doing a small exercise like this, I see both strengths and weakness I have in both drawings. I hope to strengthen my shading technique by incorperating both styles.
Painting Practice (I personally liked the shading and sheen of the hair).
Cel Shading (blocking out sections in the art makes it easier and quicker to add some depth).
